My intention for May is to explore the still small voice that speaks to us in so many beautiful ways. It is always available, always speaking, but you can miss all the fun if you aren't tuned in and aware. The very practice of meditation is to plug in and get to know this voice--to strengthen our awareness of it. When you become familiar with it’s subtleties, life takes on a completely different flavor, one of possibilities, energies, opportunities, and synchronicities. Life becomes a mindful playground for you to explore!

“Energy”

We are all made of energy. Every living being- animal, vegetable, or mineral- has a life force, an energetic field. Quantum Physics proves it. But beyond knowing it scientifically, we get the pleasure of experiencing it on a daily basis, IF we are aware.

Think about your daily routine and how often the energy of something effects you. You walk into a home or store that just feels good. Why is that? A certain someone calls and boosts your spirits, and yet, you can’t remember them saying anything particularly inspiring. You take a walk in the woods, or by the ocean and you feel incredibly energized. What you are experiencing is an exchange of energy. You are literally walking through various energy fields all day long, and your energy field is reacting accordingly.

When I first tapped into the infinite field of awareness through meditation, the immediate sense was one of expansion. But of what? What was expanding? My hands tingled and I felt like I was three times the size of my physical body, but mentally, I could not grasp what was happening. No wonder, it wasn’t a mental process--it was energetic. I had expanded my energetic field (which probably happens frequently throughout our lives), but because of the meditation, my awareness was fully present. I witnessed and experienced my energy expand. Pretty fun, eh?

I remember feeling it in my hands very distinctly. I was like a kid, wanting everyone to know, and wanting to know myself! What was going on? What was this thing called energy? And, what was I supposed to do with my newfound awareness of it? Play with it, of course!

For this week, your invitation is to turn your awareness toward energy. It’s all around you, take it in.
1.) Feel the energy of your food. Hold it in your hands. Eat it slowly, feeling for the energy of your body to take in it’s life force. Do you feel nourished and energetic, or sluggish and heavy?

2.) Feel the energy of nature. The wind itself is an energy field. Tap into the trees, the plants, the grass, the sun. See how each one is different and holds a different vibrational quality.

3.) Feel the energy of your home. Clear your clutter. Rearrange a thing or two according to what feels good. Feel the difference.

4.) Feel the energetic quality of your relationships. After a conversation with a friend, take a moment to check in with your energy level. Do you feel uplifted, or depleted?

5.) Feel the energy of you. How does your body feel? How does your heart feel? Think back on your energy check-ins. Are you mirroring your world. In other words, if your food, home, and relationships are heavy... are you heavy, too? If so, know that your world is actually mirroring you.

Meditation: Enjoy the Silence

I’m inviting you all to take a day of silence. When we choose not to use language to communicate, energy takes on a new meaning. You will notice more, and more will notice you.

I’m particularly encouraging you to do this if you have animals or children. You will see that something magical unfolds : )
*
If a whole day is too much for you, then choose to be silent for an evening or two. Consciously turn off your phones and email for a specific time period. Notice what comes up; urges, thoughts, feelings. Notice with non-judgement.

Beloved Community- Energy is fun! It’s hilarious to me how much we overlook it. It’s like choosing to move through life without one of your senses. Why do this, when you have constant access to a colorful and vibrant energetic playground? Plug in!!
